TRACK CYCLING

TRACK CYCLING

Track sprint cycling is a demanding discipline requiring power, stamina, and tactical skill. Unlike road cycling, which focuses on endurance, track sprints involve high-intensity efforts that push riders to their limits.
Sprint events include the 200 m time trial ( often under 10 seconds), the Keirin ( a high-speed chase behind a pacing motorcycle followed by a final sprint) and the team sprint (a strategic relay of three riders).
To excel, sprinters train intensely, typically three to four times a week, building the torque needed for explosive starts and top speeds of 70 km/h. Conditioning exercises are also key to injury prevention and peak performance.
